Seattle, Washington is known as an exceptional place to work and live. Major international
corporations such as Microsoft, Boeing, and Starbucks were pioneers here in the Pacific Northwest. This
geographic area is now considered part of a growing technology hub. The greater Seattle area also offers
residents a full range of recreational opportunities such as salt and fresh water beaches, a plethora of
wineries and microbreweries, symphony, opera, ballet, art galleries and many winter family-centered activities.
The Seattle weather is temperate with summer temperatures usually ranging from 75 to 80 degrees and the
winter temperatures between 30 to 50 degrees. Since the amount of rain in the Seattle area can be misconstrued, the
weather bureau has recently shown that the Seattle area only receives 34.3” of precipitation annually
which is much lower than the major metropolitan areas of New York, Atlanta, and Houston. Snow is sporadic
and not commonplace in the metropolitan Seattle area except in the nearby mountain ranges where ski resort
activities are available during the majority of the winter months.
