Eric Meier founded Calypso Medical Technologies, Inc. in 1999, bringing more than 25 years of medical device and high technology experience to the company.

Prior to founding Calypso Medical, Mr. Meier was an executive director in the surgical oncology franchise for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson Company, where he led worldwide market development and marketing for oncology products. He also served as director of business development with Ethicon, Inc. and was responsible for business development and marketing. Previously, Mr. Meier served as program manager at Protocol Systems, where he led research and development for drug delivery and patient monitoring systems. Mr. Meier serves on the board of Ziba Design, an industrial design firm.

Mr. Meier holds a master of business administration from Stanford University and a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Duke University.
